Another Anti-Media Rant: Big Brother III
I've been thinking about writing to the producers of Big Brother. To tell them that if they put me on the show I'll be the most memorable contestant ever and the ratings will go through the roof again because of me...
...because I'd slaughter the other contestants while they slept at night.
That show makes me sick, and what makes me more sick are the sad wankers that sit glued to it as much as possible because they care more for these shallow fucking primadonnas who are mostly failed drama students who's sell their own gran to get fame and fortune which appears to be all anyone cares about, than about anyone else in their world.
Worrying about who might be evicted on the show this week... are people being evicted in your street? Do you know? Do you know what's going on with your neighbours? Do you know their names? Do you know them at all? Do you care? All people seem to care about these days is celebs. Famous folk. Those we are told about that matter. Our new idols. Easily accessable, prepackaged targets for adoration.
Ask most schoolkids what they want to be when they grow up, they'll tell you now more often than not that they want to be a celeb of some kind. A premier league football player, a model, a film star, a pop star. This is the height of civilization? This is what mankind has ascended to? To appear in Hello magazine?
It never seems to change. Things have been like this for all of history. Despite the struggles and lessons learned over time, despite the philosophy and the persuit of freedom and enlightenment in the end they always give up and just opt for the power and riches. Oh people hold up their hands in shock at the oppression of the little people, those trampled and slaughtered in the individual's attempts at personal glory, but if offered the chance most people will take it and try and justify their methods and motives when they are done, "Well once you are up here it's not so bad, and the starving children don't bother me as long as I don't see them as human."
Survival of the fittest... yes Darwin was right... so was Hitler it seems. Either accept it or try and change it.
